Are you an aspiring country artist?
Let me help you promote your music. Send me videos, your band's website information, or anything else which will help me get the word out about your efforts. I am building a network of fans who will support your efforts. Please send me a message at mfm2975@gmail.com, and I'll be happy to send you a big shout on my featured artist post. If radio wont play real country music, we'll get your music out there at all costs.

Featured Artist: Hank Williams III
Hank Williams III is a third generation country phenom. My personal favorites include his cover of Johnny Cash's "Cocaine Blues" and the unofficial anthem for this blog, "Dick in Dixie." Check out his website http://www.hank3.com/. His newest release, Assjack is in a store near you. And if you happen to be in Nashville, go see him out at Layla's Bluegrass Inn. He'll be playing shows there through December and January.

Let's Get Our Country Music Back
After watching ten minutes of the so called Country Music Awards last week, I figured I'd draw a line in the sand against Nashville. So today is the official ground breaking of the "Country Music Restoration Project (CMRP).
The bottom line is mainstream country music really sucks. It's turned stale and boring, and like with most forms of music these days, it's about about image and buzz over the actual music. Many people agree, but Nashville can have their music and I wont bellyache too much about it.
So with that said, my effort is to get our music out there, and showcase and celebrate country music from the past, and promote current bands making it happen.
To sum it up, we are here for the last outlaws. Those hard working musicians who carry on the great tradition of country and rockabilly music.
FAQ:
What will typical posts look like?
Every few days, I will post a new link of a artist who deserves consideration. Do your best to check out their site and post feedback on what you think about the performers. Also, I will post some classic country songs to check out along with funny and random stuff that comes my way...not to mention a few surprises.
Is this blog only about country music?
We will talk mostly about country music, but I'm sure if you're like me, there are some other genres of music you really like. So I might drop in a few other performers in mix that are not country, but kick ass nevertheless.
Hey, I'm a fan of modern country music. Who are you to decide what is country and what isn't?
You like what you like and I like what I like. I just think country music is really just modern top 40 music with a southern accent. Many people agree with this and feel alienated by today's version of country.
Let's agree to disagree by you listening to the music and post and supporting the artists every week, and I won't rip Nashville cooperate music too much either.
So this is an Alt. Country Blog?
Ah...no. Anyone who goes around acting too alternatively will not get to much support here.
